Double depth burial plots needed asap

In 2006 my mother passed and we were fortunate to have a family member offer a burial plot for her. After a year of her death, we decided on a marker for her and come to find out that the marker was already in place, it was just a matter of adding my mother's name on it. We had plan to bury our father with her, but now the plan has changed. It is going to be 5 years since her death and it's been unfortunate that we were not able to move her nor purchase another plot due to our financial situation. Just a few hours ago, I just found out from my brother that our father does not have much time to live. although he looks healthy, his inside are not do to cancer. We still do not have the means to buy a plot and move our mother before our dad. Although, he has life insurance, it only will cover enough the necessary expenses for his funeral and memorial services and not enough to move our mother. I've met and spoke with the person at the burial place and base on the services, fees (outrageous), burial plot, and to move our mother, it will cost about $10,000. I'm scared that we will not have time before my dad's time to make his wish come true and that is to find a plot and move our mother into it before he goes. If anyone can help and provide resources to orgainzations that will be willing to help, I am greatly thankful. I have never asked for a handout and never thought it would come to this, but I don't know what else to do especially knowing that my dad will soon be with our mother. If anyone can please help, thank you!

Aidpage group discussing "burial"...

Can you imagine what it feels like to be a young child and not have your mother to hold you, bathe you, read to you, tuck you in at night?

I'm 65 and I still have my mom and I don't think there is any worse pain than you losing your mom at an early age.  That pain can only be equalled by possibly losing your child much too soon.

In either case, your cemetery plot, your burial ground becomes the new home where you loved ones come to see you.

Well, Dee had to leave her children when they were much to young to be going through that type pain, but I take them to see their mom, where they can talk with her and pray over her and they are becoming acclimated to that- but Dee has no headstone.  I had to bury her.  I don't have the money for a headstone, but Dee and her children deserve to know where to find her in that vast cemetery.  SHE NEEDS A HEADSTONE!  Someone help me please!

About Bigtaz

 I am in desperate need of some HELP... I just lost my father May 7, 2010. While he was incarcerated in the Los Angeles County Jail. My father name is Lewis Jones, he didn't have any life insurance, and I am the only child, my 87 year old grandmother and I are doing everything in our power to raise money for my father's memorial service. We need to arrange plans for the mortuary (app. 00), and for the cemetery (price still undetermined). So far we have only been able to raise 4. Meanwhile my father's body is sitting in the mortuary waiting. I am really down in my luck. And need HELP. Thank You

Michigan State Emergency Relief Program

http://www.michigan.gov/dhs/0,1607,7-124-5453_5531-15407--,00.html

Click the link for more information and how to contact DHS.

 Emergency Services Overview

The State Emergency Relief (SER) Program provides immediate help to individuals and families facing conditions of extreme hardship or for emergencies that threaten health and safety. Through a combination of direct financial assistance and contracts with a network of non-profit organizations such as the Salvation Army and local Community Action Organizations, SER helps low-income households meet emergency needs such as:

    * Heat & Utilities
    * Home Repairs
    * Relocation Assistance
    * Home Ownership Services
    * Burial

The SER program is primarily designed to maintain low-income households who are normally able to meet their needs but occasionally need help when unexpected emergency situations arise. The SER program is not an appropriate solution to ongoing or chronic financial difficulties.

Only local DHS experts should make eligibility determinations for this program due to many variables. Ask for details when turning in a completed application.

Aidpage group discussing "burial"...

Feel free to participate in this public group space.

Two easy ways to do this:

  1. Add a comment or a question here - on this page... or on any other page in this space.
  2. Or, if you want to start a separate thread - make a new page.

Either way is good - the important thing is your participation. On Aidpage, people support each other by speaking out and by paying attention to each other - as simple as that.

About TxMama

Hello...

This is difficult to write so please bear with me.  Our beautiful son Jerry J. Maxwell died on the morning of December 2nd of 2009 just a few short weeks ago.  He was 28 years old and the father of 3 children. Gavin  age 9 Caden age 8 and Emma age 5. Our beautiful grandchildren.  Jerry died in a terrible accident. It was completely unexpected and I still feel like someone kicked me in the gut.  The loss of a child... how does a Mother put into words the loss... I can't.  On top of everything else we don't have the funds to provide him with a proper funeral and final resting place. We would like for our son to be buried in a cemetery where his grandfathers are buried and a proper headstone for him.  He deserves that atleast.  We have managed to raise some of the funds needed but we are still about 3000.00 short. A fund has been set up at The American Bank of Texas  at 418 N Hwy. 281 Marble Falls Tx. 78654  Donations can also be sent via paypal to tutti@nctv.com.  This paypal address is my email which donations will go directly toward the fund. Nothing means more to me than to give this one last gift to my son. A place we can visit his buried ashes , a place where his children can say goodbye and visit when they need to feel close to their father.  If every I felt I needed an Angel it's now.  Please if there is someone, anyone, out there that can help me do this for him I beg of you help me do this for a young man whom deserved it. A young man that had the heart of gold and would do anything and everything for anyone he knew.  He loved life, friends and strangers alike.  He truly was a gentle soul who wanted to make other people's lives better and happier in anyway he could.  I feel the tears on my face as I write this.... I miss him so so much. I'm not the best with words but if you can give anything, even the smallest amount to help us make this happen.  It would mean everything to me and to my family.  Thank you for listening.

Rhonda proud Mom of Jerry Maxwell

Thank you for your time and God Bless

Veteran & Dependent Burial in VA National Cemeteries

The National Cemetery Administration honors veterans with a final resting place and lasting memorials that commemorate their service to our Nation.

The Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) National Cemetery Administration maintains 125 national cemeteries in 39 states (and Puerto Rico) as well as 33 soldier’s lots and monument sites.

Burial benefits include a gravesite in any of our open cemeteries with available space, opening and closing of the grave, perpetual care, a Government headstone or marker, a burial flag, and a Presidential Memorial Certificate, at no cost to the family. Some veterans may also be eligible for Burial Allowances. Cremated remains are buried or inurned in national cemeteries in the same manner and with the same honors as casketed remains.

Burial benefits available for eligible spouses and dependents include burial with the veteran, perpetual care of the interment site. The spouse or dependent’s name and date of birth and death will be inscribed on the veteran’s headstone at no cost to the family.

General Program Requirements

Any member of the Armed Forces of the United States who dies while on active duty or any veteran who was discharged under conditions other than dishonorable may be eligible for burial in a National Cemetery.

Certain National Guard and reserve members may also qualify.

Commissioned Officers of the Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are considered to be active duty members and veterans, once discharged.

Length-of-service requirements apply in some cases.

Generally, in order to receive VA benefits and services the veteran/servicemember's character of discharge or service must be under other than dishonorable conditions (e.g., honorable, under honorable conditions, general). However, individuals receiving undesirable, bad conduct, and other types of dishonorable discharges may qualify for VA benefits depending on a determination made by VA.

Spouses and certain eligible dependents may also be buried in national cemeteries.

Pre-arrangement for burial at a National Cemetery is not allowed.
